This week our Featured Firstie is Midshipman 1st class Tamara Watkins. She recently service selected surface warfare (SWO) and after she has earned her SWO pin, she will become an Information Professional (IP) officer. For three years before heading to the Naval Academy Preparatory School, Tamara was a Cryptologic Technician and she even served on deployment to Afghanistan!

Tamara has studied Political Science during her time at the academy and she is an active member in the Midshipman Black Studies Club. Her firstie year billets include company honor advisor, first battalion adjutant and company administrative officer. She has been part of the #NavyFootballBrotherhood every season through her involvement with the film/video crew. Finally beating Army at the #ArmyNavyGame this year has been her favorite memory.
