On Womens Equality Day, the first Firstie Friday of this semester is our Brigade Commander: MIDN 1/C Morgan Prigmore! She is a political science major and a proud member of third company.
Prigmore was raised in Elverson, Pennsylvania, and is now a resident of Berlin, Maryland. She has three older sisters and a “younger brother who happens to be a 5-year-old golden retriever. He’s my best friend.”
Prigmore is part of a legacy of service members. She draws her motivation from her grandfather, a World War II veteran: “He always believed in me far more than I could ever believe in myself. The Academy was my final promise to him.”
She continues to make her family proud as the leader of the brigade in the #ClassOf2023. Her leadership philosophy for this year is inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson, who stated “nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” Prigmore is certainly enthusiastic for this semester: “I am excited to run into this semester and lead the Brigade with a dedicated team from the Class of 2023.”
As an aspiring Marine Corps officer, Prigmore’s favorite USNA memory is giving three original Montford Point Marines a tour of the Yard last October along with a good friend, retired MGySgt Joe Geeter III, USMC.
Off the Yard, Prigmore enjoys backpacking, traveling, and cooking with good company.
