2025 Astronaut Convocation

On February 27, 2025, the Department of Aerospace Engineering presented its annual Astronaut Convocation, which brought together eight astronauts for a panel discussion and meet-and-greet in Mahan Hall.  The convocation was introduced by Maj Gen Charles Bolden ‘68, USMC (Ret.). Capt. Kenneth Bowersox ‘78, USN (Ret.), and Col Randy Bresnik, USMC (Ret.) led the panel discussion with a focus on the theme, The Next Giant Leap: The Future of Human Spaceflight from Low Earth Orbit to Mars.

The Convocation was planned and executed by Aerospace Engineering faculty/Astronaut/Navy Captain Ken Reightler, Major David Richie, and MIDN 2/C Ethan Austermann, who is also President of Navy Space.
