2026 Small Satellite Conference

MIDN Gabe Gonzalez, John Dely, Owen Broussard and Sara Becker and ENS Isabella Fernald attend the SmallSat Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah from August 23-26, 2026, accompanied by Professors Jin Kang (Aerospace Engineering) and Jeff Larsen (Astrophysics) and SSEL Engineer Christine Maceo. The midshipmen presented the poster "Optical Downlink Experiment in Low Earth Orbit" and ENS Fernald presented "Technology Proof of Concept: Optical Tracking of CubeSats with Terrestrial Telescopes for Post-Launch Identification" in a FlashTalk session. USNA also hosted a University Exhibit Booth to promote the Naval Academy Small Satellite Program, connect with alumni and partner organization in the DoW, and provide networking opportunities for faculty and students.
