Orion Spacecraft Viewed Through Hopper Hall Observatory

On April 8, 2026, at 0140 EDT, when the Orion spacecraft (Artemis II) had passed by the far side of the moon and started its journey home, Professor Jeff Larsen and SSEL Engineer Christine Maceo used the telescope in the Hopper Hall Observatory to capture an image of Orion when it was just 10 degrees off our horizon and 200,000+ miles away.Category: Academics
