USAFA Collaborates on USNA-16 and MSOPS

POSTED ON: Tuesday, April 29, 2025 7:00 AM by Christine Maceo

Cadets from the United States Air Force Academy visited USNA from April 11-14, 2025 to collaborate with USNA midshipmen on the Naval Academy Small Satellite Program and the Midshipmen Space Operations Team (MSOPS).  For NASSP, USAFA  cadets designed and built a dosimeter payload for the USNA-16 CubeSat, which will measure radiation levels in the South Atlantic Anomaly; the dosimeter payload was integrated with the Naval Academy Standard Bus and tested on the vibration table in the Satellite Qualifications Lab.  Representatives from the USAFA Cadet Space Operations Squadron also trained 12 members of the MSOPS Team to operate FalconSATs through the USAFA Ground Station.  MSOPS will be assisting with FalconSAT satellite operations per mission guidelines.
