Continuing a long legacy of amateur radio at USNA and in the Navy, the USNA Amateur Radio Club (W3ADO) has been approved by the Anne Arundel Radio Club Board to operate an autonomous net on the W3VPR 147/075 (PL 107.2) repeater. The USNA Bruninga Net will run on Mondays from 1930-2000, and honors CMDR (ret) Bob Bruninga, WB4APR (SK), father of the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) and USNA senior research engineer. W3ADO Club President Andrew Alvey will be the net controller and will ensure that the net follows FCC rules and regulations. The W3VPR 147.075 repeater broadcasts are archived on the https://www.broadcastify.com/ website and will be accessible via EchoLink (node K3HRT-R) by U.S. and Canadian “hams” anywhere in the world.
