International Science and Engineering Fair 2022

POSTED ON: Friday, May 13, 2022 12:00 AM by Mark Murray

Five USNA faculty members acted as the Navy Judging team at this year’s in-person portion of the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2022) held in Atlanta, Georgia from 7 – 13 May 2022. Mark Murray, Andrew Smith, Jim Cowart, Charles Nelson and Ray Guethler supported the Office of Naval Research’s Naval Science Awards Program by selecting four $15,000 Chief of Naval Research Scholarship Awards from hundreds of eligible contestants in several engineering/science categories. This year’s ISEF hybrid event had both virtual and in-person judging. The in-person portion for this international event was the first since 2019 and brought together thousands of high school students from around the world.

The Naval Science Awards Program (NSAP) is a U.S. Navy and Marine Corps program that encourages our nation’s students to develop and retain an interest in science and engineering. NSAP recognizes the accomplishments of eligible students at regional and state science and engineering fairs, as well as the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in producing and presenting quality science and engineering projects.
