MESA Interactive STEM Day 2022

The Maryland MESA Interactive STEM Day was held over the course of two days in November 2022, through a partnership between the U.S. Naval Academy STEM Center and Maryland Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, MD.

Over 200 elementary school students participated in hands-on activities in a range of STEM topics including Sound and Light, Energy and Circuits, Codebreaking and Cryptography, Buoyancy, Properties of Water, Spread of Disease, Robotics, Polymers, and Flight. Students could apply the Engineering Design Process and discover through hands-on experiences while learning from USNA Midshipmen, faculty and staff. The students from local Maryland counties and Baltimore City shared their excitement about the hands-on learning experiences and a scientific demonstration that was held as part of their day.
