Biography

 

U.S. Rep Jake Ellzey represents Texas' Sixth Congressional District. He attended the United States Naval Academy from 1988-1992 and then served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He has logged 830 carrier landings, and he served a tour as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller on the ground embedded with Navy SEALs. He was deployed nine times during his military career with five combat tours over Afghanistan and two in Iraq. Following his tour as Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron, he served as the Air Boss on the USS Ronald Reagan. After his Navy career, he served Texas as a Commissioner of the Texas Veterans Commission, State Representative of the 10th District of Texas, ran a small business, and worked as an airline pilot. He was first elected in a special election on July 30, 2021, to the 117th Congress. He was re-elected to the 118th Congress and the 119th Congress, and now serves his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was elected as a Republican to the 118th Congress beginning January 3, 2023.
