I research natural language processing (NLP) to learn about the world from text with minimal supervision. I apply modern NLP and machine learning techniques to learn how events and people interact. Most recently this involves researching Large Language Models for event understanding, reasoning, and inference. I am also interested in extraction and data analysis to help people better understand large amounts of text.
