CDR Ed Jatho, a Pensacola native, enlisted in the Navy in 1997 and later graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2003. Initially a flight student, he transitioned to Cryptologic Warfare, serving in roles across Guantanamo Bay, NIOC Hawaii, USS San Jacinto, and Carrier Strike Group TEN. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School and now teaches at the U.S. Naval Academy, focusing on trustworthy AI and defending against adversarial attacks. He has received multiple service medals.
