About me
I am an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the United States Naval Academy. My research focuses on artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, large language models, and generative AI, with an emphasis on creating trustworthy methods to solve real-world problems. By applying these technologies to real-world data including electronic health records, social media, and wearable sensors for tracking physiological markers, I develop computational methods to address critical challenges in human health, disease prediction, and complex document understanding. Prior to joining USNA, I served as an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University and Children’s National Hospital, following research appointments as an AI Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University.
