I am always on the lookout for new student researchers!
I have a strong track record for successful Capstone, Bowman, and Trident scholars and am happy to work with any students (Physics major or not!) that is interested in understanding how heat moves through materials. There are lots of great opportunities for interesting projects, internships, and conferences that await the students that do research with me.
I am usually looking for an early start and long term commitment from my research students. My most succesful students started doing research with me in their Youngster (or even Plebe) year! The physics department has a great framework for bringin students through introductory research courses and up to being independent researchers over various semesters and credit-loads of courses.
If you think you might want to do research in materials science here at USNA, email me. Even if it's not with me, I can most likely get you oriented and connected with a professor that will be your research mentor.
