Public Outreach

I take part in the education and public outreach program of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. The goal is to make gravitational-wave science accessible to K-12 classrooms, science centers, and the public.

GW Explorer

GW Explorer is an interactive gravitational-wave exhibit with a guided introduction, a waveform explorer, a filter-design explorer, and matched-filter search games. It computes real merger waveforms directly in the browser, so it needs no server and no installation and runs on a school Chromebook. It is being reviewed for classroom use with educators at the LIGO Hanford and LIGO Livingston science education centers.

People of LIGO

People of LIGO is an interactive globe of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, built from the public member directory. It maps every member institution and shows the global detector network.
