Montor Scholarship Program

The Montor Scholarship Program was established in 2012 in honor and memory of Dr. Karel Montor, former Distinguished Professor in Leadership at the United States Naval Academy. This program, administered by the LEAD Division, annually recognizes those upper class midshipmen who actively promote and sustain excellence in leadership education and leader development. The "Montor Leadership Scholars" designation recognizes exceptional leader motivation and commemorates the contributions and educational leadership of Dr. Montor. Recipients are those midshipmen who have excelled as leaders in the classroom, in the Brigade, and in the larger community. At the end of each academic year, midshipmen will be selected to be "Montor Leadership Scholars" and will carry that designation until graduation. Their selection and recognition will occur as part of the annual LEAD Division awards ceremony. Each "Montor Leadership Scholar" will receive a lifetime membership in Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society and other appropriate recognition determined by LEAD Division faculty.
