#039-15     ANNAPOLIS, Md.— For the convenience of family, friends and visitors during Commissioning Week, May 18-22, the Naval Academy will provide daily shuttle buses from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to the academy, a dedicated phone number for schedule of events information and weather-related updates, as well as an online live stream of the graduation and commissioning ceremony.

PLEASE NOTE: Animals, with the exception of certified assistance animals, are not permitted on Academy grounds during Commissioning Week, May 18-22.

Parking – Parking at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Taylor Avenue is strongly advised due to anticipated congestion downtown and limited parking at USNA.  The daily fee is $5 per car and $10 per recreational vehicle. Vehicles without a Department of Defense or USNA credentialed driver or passenger are not permitted to drive onto the academy grounds. Handicapped visitors may bring vehicles onto USNA with handicapped plates or placards; vehicles are subject to search before access is granted.

Shuttle Buses - Free shuttle buses will run roundtrip from the stadium to the academy, approximately every 30 minutes on the following schedule*:

Monday, May 18 – 7 a.m.-11 p.m.

Tuesday, May 19 - 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Wednesday, May 20 – 7 a.m.–midnight

Thursday, May 21 - 7 a.m.–11 p.m.

The primary (and best) location to meet a bus for transportation to the stadium is Alumni Hall. All busses will pick-up and drop off at Alumni Hall. One bus will stop at Preble Hall, Dahlgren Hall, the Visitor Center, Alumni Hall and the Midshipman Store parking lot.

*In support of the Herndon Climb (Monday, May 18), the only drop-off and pick-up point for the shuttle bus will be in front of Alumni Hall from noon until the conclusion of the event. In support of the Blue Angels rehearsal and flight demonstration (May 19 & 20), the only drop-off and pick-up point for the shuttle bus will be in front of Alumni Hall from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

During peak periods, please anticipate lines for the shuttle service and probable delays due to heavy traffic congestion in and around downtown Annapolis.

Shuttle buses will not operate on graduation day Friday, May 22, unless weather dictates that the ceremony be moved into Alumni Hall.  If that occurs, parking will be at the stadium and buses will run for indoor graduation ticket holders, 1st Class Midshipmen and USNA faculty and staff only. Shuttles will begin at 6 a.m. and continue until all authorized personnel have been transported to Alumni Hall.  Upon conclusion of the ceremony, buses will run between the Alumni Hall and the stadium parking lot.
