Dr. Amy Ksir

Department of Mathematics
U.S. Naval Academy

During the academic year 2010-2011, I was on sabbatical at Colorado State University.

Research Interests:

  • Algebraic geometry
  • Tropical geometry
  • Number theory
  • Arithmetic dynamics
  • Error-correcting codes
  • Supersymmetric string theory

Teaching Interests

In 2007 I gave a series of lectures at the Program for Women in Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study, based on this paper: Bashelor, Andrew, Amy Ksir, and Will Traves,  “Enumerative Algebraic Geometry: Counting Conics.”  American Mathematical Monthly, vol.115, no. 8, October 2008, pp. 701–728
