Advanced Research Computing Support (ARCS)

The Advanced Research Computing Support (ARCS) office is a part of The Office of Academic Research at the United States Naval Academy (USNA).  ARCS is responsible for supporting advanced and research computing efforts of  students and faculty members. This includes supporting:

  • High performance computing facilities
  • Research workstations
  • Advanced applications
  • Computing efforts of individual researchers.
  • Advanced computing for coursework and special student projects

The computing facilities consist of high performance computing equipment, including clusters and servers with multiple multi-core processors and relatively large amounts of memory as well as disk storage. Multiple operating systems are supported.

Various specialized mathematics, science and engineering application software packages are supported.

ARCS is staffed by Information Technology (IT) Specialists. The offices are located in Michelson Hall.
