The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence offers the highest quality academic support programs for all midshipmen seeking to improve their academic performance.
The CAE is located in the Levy Center (2nd Deck), around the corner from the Chaplain Center and beneath the Honor Court. The entrance to the CAE is up the stairs of the beautiful CDR Howard R. Berlin Atrium, located across from the Jewish Chapel in Mitscher Hall. Separately, the Writing Center is located on the 1st deck of Nimitz Library, through the main entrance and to the left. We've included a map below for your convenience.
The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) was founded in 1989 as The Academic Center. In 2003 our name was changed to The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence in honor of the Class of 1963 and their substantial support of the Academic Center.
At their 40th reunion in 2003, the Class of 1963 endowed the CAE with over $1.2M, which grew to over $1.5M by 2007. At their 50th reunion in 2013, the Class of 1963 presented another gift to the CAE, ensuring that the Brigade of Midshipmen receives the finest academic support well into the future.
We thank them for their legacy and support to those who follow!
