Estuarine and Coastal Oceanography Group

The focus of the Estuarine & Coastal Oceanography Group is using biogeochemical tracers to investigate the cycling, transport, and fate of inorganic and organic constituents in linked watershed, estuarine, and coastal marine systems on short-to-medium time scales.

This includes investigating material source functions and determining how physical, geological, chemical, and biological processes interact on different spatial and temporal scales to influence the partitioning and fate of reactive constituents in water, soils, and sediments.  A secondary focus of the Estuarine & Coastal Oceanography Group is the application of unmanned and autonomous platforms and technology solutions to collect data in dynamic littoral environments.
