The poetry and narratives attributed to the pre-Islamic War of al-Basus, and their literary progeny throughout the ages have had substantial impact on the edifice and substance of the Arabic literary and cultural heritage, and its continued productivity. This online conference, to be held between February 17-19, 2023, for two and a half hours per day, will bring together scholars dealing with various aspects of this significant corner of the literary and cultural heritage to examine the role of Harb al-Basus/al-Zir Salim and their literary progeny in the building of Arab Literary Identity, their proliferation, expansion and popularization in the sirah tradition, and to discuss their widespread impact and use in all forms of discourse through proverbial reference, their profound role in sourcing and building Arabic tragic drama, and their recasting and redeployment in all forms of modern literary and media productions. 

لقد أثرت األشعار والحكايات المنسوبة الى حرب البسوس في الجاهلية واإلنتاج األدبية المترتب عليها عبر العصور تأثيرا جوهريا على بنية التراث العربي األدبي والثقافي ومضمونه وعلى إنتاجيته المستمرة. وهذه الندوة األلكترونية المقرر عقدها من ١٧ الى ١٩ فبراير ٢٠٢٣ لساعتين ونصف كل يوم تهدف الى جمع المتخصصين والمفكرين المهتمين بهذه الزاوية الهامة لميدان التراث األدبي والثقافي ليقدموا أطروحاتهم عن دور حرب البسوس وقصة الزير سالم والظواهر األدبية والثقافية الناتجة عنها في بنية الهوية العربية األدبية وعن انتشار هذه القصص واآلداب وازدهارها في السيرة الشعبية باإلضافة الى مناقشة تأثيرها الوسيع واستخدامها في كل أشكال الخطاب األدبي والشعبي عبر اإلشارات األدبية بما فيه إعادة تشكيل هذه القصص وإعادة استخدامها في كل شكل من أشكال اإلنتاج األدبي واإلعالمي
