Midshipmen Achievement

Employment Rates

Graduates from USNA receive a bachelor of science degree and are generally commissioned as ensigns in the Navy or second lieutenants in the Marine Corps to serve their minimum 5 year commitment. A small number may be cross-commissioned to serve as officers in other U.S. services (Air Force, Army, or Coast Guard). Up to 60 midshipmen (first-year through seniors) may hail from allied countries; these international graduates do not receive a commission. Rather, upon graduation international graduates return to their home countries to enter into their country's obligated service. Hence, employment rates are 100% every year due to the obligated service requirement.
