Charles Nesbit Wilson

Charles Wilson was a Representative from Texas. He was born in Trinity, Trinity County, Tex. on June 1, 1933. He attended the public schools and graduated from Trinity High School in 1951. While a student at Sam Houston State University at Huntsville, Tex., he was appointed to the United States Naval Academy and received a B.S. from the Academy in 1956. He served in the United States Navy, with rank of lieutenant, from 1956-1960. He then engaged in the lumber business. He was elected to the Texas house of representatives and served from 1960-1966, following which he was elected to the Texas senate from 1966-1972. He was elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-third and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1973-January 3, 1997). He was not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fifth Congress and resigned October 8, 1996. He died on February, 10, 2010, in Lufkin, Tex.; interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
