Medal of Honor Recipients
The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force that can be given to an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. Although originally awarded for both combat and non-combat heroism, the Medal of Honor today is presented for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life, above and beyond the call of duty. Seventy-three Naval Academy graduates have been awarded the Medal of Honor.
