Induction Day Information (June 25, 2026)

Driving access on I-Day will be restricted to only those possessing CAC or DoD credential.

I-DAY Schedule of Events

0530 First shuttle departs NMCMS for USNA
0615 Commence processing for the incoming class (Alumni Hall).
0700-1400 DBIDS Card pickup for parents/guardians (Gate 1)
0700-1730 USNA (Midshipman) Store open
0730-1100 Complimentary Yard Tours for Plebe Families (Outside Alumni Hall near the Candidate/Shuttle Drop Off Point)
0730-1700 Parent Expo (Dahlgren Hall)
0800 Colors Ceremony (music provided by the Naval Academy Band at Alumni Hall)
0800-0900 Parent Orientation with Q&A (Mitscher Auditorium)
0800-1700 Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center Gift Shop open
0915-1015 Parent Orientation with Q&A (Mitscher Auditorium)
0930-1500 Naval Academy Tours & Information available (Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center).
1000-1400 Yard Patrol Craft tours (Dewey Seawall)
1030-1130 Parent Orientation with Q&A (Mitscher Auditorium)
1200-1330 Catholic Mass for all those who wish to attend (Brigade Chapel)
1435-1500 Band Concert (inside Alumni Hall before the Parent’s Briefing)
1430-1600 Parents' Briefing (in Alumni Hall hosted by USNA Leadership) Doors open no later than 1430, brief begins at 1500
1725 Band Concert (T-Court) and procession to seats.
1800  Oath of Office Ceremony in T-Court (inclement weather, in Alumni Hall).
1830-1900 Incoming class meet with parents in designated areas along Stribling
1915 Evening formation (Stribling Walk) with Band support.

Shuttle Service (I-Day Only)

USNA will provide shuttle service from:
Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to Alumni Hall. The shuttle will run from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

All family and friends are encouraged to park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (NMCMS) and take the free shuttle buses to Alumni Hall. There is a $10 charge to park at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Due to congestion and increased security measures at the entrances to the Academy, it is recommended those reporting to the Naval Academy for admission and those traveling with them use the shuttle from Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. 

USNA Gate access for Induction Day

NSA Annapolis and USNA will require REAL ID-compliant credentials for visitors entering through pedestrian gates, per the REAL ID Act. Visitors under the age of 18, who do not have a valid ID must be escorted by an adult with a valid form of identification. Accepted IDs include: REAL ID Driver’s License/state ID (with star), U.S. Passport, or Enhanced Driver’s License (MI, MN, NY, VT, WA).

Useful Information
  • The Parent's Briefing is an excellent opportunity to hear from and ask questions of the Superintendent, Commandant, Academic Dean, and Athletic Director. The briefing location and time is Alumni Hall at 1500.
