With submarine service comes global subaquatic travel and a sense of adventure all its own. The submarine force is the last bastion of Master and Commander in the fleet. Submariners operate around the world with near autonomy. Submariners go where others don’t or can’t.
Submarines are uniquely designed for operations in the Arctic, often surfacing through ice at the North Pole. Additionally, U.S. submarines make frequent port visits from Norway to Australia to Japan and everywhere in between.
Submarines are homeported at bases from San Diego, Calif., to Norfolk, Va., to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
