Arabic Minor
The Arabic Minor offers students the possibility of learning the Arabic language while pursuing an entirely different academic major. Although students within the Arabic Minor do not dive as deeply into the Arabic language as they would within the Arabic Major, the Minor still offers a flexible option for language and cultural study to midshipmen whose Academic interests and needs take the focus of their efforts elsewhere. The Minor builds a strong foundation in Arabic language and culture which the student can build upon in the future.
In order for students to obtain an Arabic Minor, they are required to complete the equivalent of 6 Arabic language courses (18 credits) which include two courses at the 300 level.
If two semesters of Arabic are validated, 4 Arabic language courses must be completed (12 credits). Additionally, if four semesters of Arabic are validated, then three courses (9 credits) must be completed, of which two are at the 300-level and one at the 400-level.
