Chaplain Platek is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, a Master of Divinity degree, and a Master of Arts degree in Theological and Historical studies from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. In 2016, Chaplain Platek assumed the pastorate at First Presbyterian Church, Chelsea, Oklahoma. In 2017 Chaplain Platek joined the Seminary faculty at Oral Roberts University. Chaplain Platek is ordained and endorsed by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Chaplain Platek was commissioned a Lieutenant Junior Grade in August 2019. Upon completion of Officer Development School and Naval Chaplaincy School she joined the staff of Destroyer Squadron 21 in San Diego, CA, as Deputy Command Chaplain (N9A). At DESRON 21 she provided Chaplain support and service to over 1,800 sailors across six DDG’s. She was selected for special assignment to serve onboard USS FITZGERALD from April 2020 to August 2021 where she provided exclusive chaplain support and advisement to over 340 crew members, contributing to the Fightin’ FITZ successful return to the operational fleet.

Chaplain Platek received orders to the United States Naval Academy and reported in January 2022 where she currently serves as the 1st Battalion Chaplain.

Chaplain Platek’s personal awards include a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
