Captain (Capt) Adcock is from Mesquite, Texas, and attended the University of New Mexico (UNM) where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015 and his Juris Doctorate in 2018.
Captain Adcock played offensive tackle on UNM’s varsity football team from 2012 to 2016 where he was a four-year starter and first team Academic All-American. While at UNM, Capt Adcock was named a Wuerffel Trophy finalist (2016), Rhodes Scholarship nominee (2016), and Marshall Scholarship nominee (2016).
New Mexico’s Governor Susana Martinez appointed Capt Adcock to UNM’s Board of Regents in 2017. During his two-year term, Capt Adcock served on the University’s Audit and Compliance Committee, Academic Student Affairs and Research Committee, Health Sciences Center Committee, UNM Hospital Board of Trustees, Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital Advisory Board, and the University Alumni Board. Captain Adcock also sat on the hiring committees for both the University’s president and athletic director.
During law school, Capt Adcock clerked at the Law Office of Rudy Chavez and interned at the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico in the Honorable James O. Browning’s chambers.
Captain Adcock commissioned in March 2019 after completing the Officer Candidate Course at Officer Candidates School, Quantico, Virginia. Captain Adcock then attended The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia, where he graduated from Charlie Company 3-19 in September 2019. Captain Adcock completed the Basic Lawyer Course at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, in December 2019.
Captain Adcock reported to Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) in January 2020. He served as trial counsel and Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) until April 2021. Captain Adcock was selected as the Pacific Region’s Trial Counsel of the Year for consideration in the Marine Corps-wide Trial Counsel of the Year award.
Captain Adcock served as defense counsel from April 2021 to May 2023. Captain Adcock had two motions selected as a Pacific Region Motion of the Year for consideration in the Defense Service Organization’s Marine Corps-wide Motion of the Year award.
Captain Adcock led the Headquarters Battalion, MCBH, shooting team to victories in the Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition – Pacific rifle (2021) and pistol (2022) team competitions. Captain Adcock finished First Leather in the 2022 Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition – Pacific individual rifle competition. Captain Adcock competed in the 2022 Marine Corps Marksmanship Championships. Captain Adcock did not compete in the 2023 marksmanship season due to defense counsel obligations, but Capt Adcock represented the United States Naval Academy in the fiscal year 2024 Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition – National Capital Region.
