Having a deeply rooted Naval family history, LCDR Amanda Chase graduated from The United States Naval Academy in 2012, with a B.S. in English. Following graduation, she attended flight training in Pensacola, FL, Corpus Christi, TX and Kingsville, TX and earned her coveted Wings of Gold in 2014.
Amanda was selected to fly the C-2A Greyhound in Norfolk, Virginia where she completed the FRS syllabus with the VAW-120 Greyhawks. She earned Top Hook in her Carrier Qualification class, resulting in her selection to join VRC-30 DET 5 and CVW-5 in Atsugi, Japan. In 2016, she deployed with Detachment FIVE to Carrier Air Wing FIVE on board the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) supporting missions VALIANT SHIELD, MCSOFEX, TRILAT, and KEEN SWORD. During this deployment, she served as the Maintenance Division Officer and Landing Signal Officer (LSO) for the detachment. After returning from cruise at the end of November 2016, she took over as Administrative Officer and Head LSO at VRC-30 Det 5. She deployed a second time from May to November 2017 as the Administrative Officer and head LSO of Det 5 on board the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) supporting missions ANNUALEX, MCSOFEX and TALISMAN SABRE.
In 2018, she moved to Annapolis, MD where worked in Candidate Guidance in the USNA Admissions office. During this tour, she earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Learning from George Washington University. She transitioned to the leadership department at USNA in the fall of 2022 where she is a Permanent Military Instructor and course director for NL310.
