Lieutenant Commander Huntley is a native of Stafford, Virginia and joined the Navy in 2008 attending the Naval Academy Preparatory School. He then attended the United States Naval Academy where he wrestled four years on the varsity Navy Wrestling team and obtained his B.S. degree in Information Technology graduating in 2013. While at the United States Naval Academy he twice earned NCAA Academic All-American status, the Coaches Calvert Award, and served as the Wrestling Captain.

Following his commission, LCDR Huntley attended Basic Underwater Demolition School (BUD/S) in 2013 graduating with Class 305. In 2015, LCDR Huntley was assigned to SEAL Team TEN in Virginia Beach, VA as an Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) where he conducted a deployment in support of Special Operations Command – South America. He led a sixteen-man SOF Element in Guatemala. In 2017, immediately following his AOIC tour, LCDR Huntley was assigned to Special Reconnaissance Team TWO where he assumed command of a Special Reconnaissance Platoon. He deployed to Europe where he served as the NSW Task Unit Europe Special Reconnaissance Commander – a 10-man element – conducting sensitive activities to illuminate and counter Russian malign influence.

In 2019, LCDR Huntley was assigned to Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron ONE also in Virginia Beach, VA as the Operations Officer. Responsible for planning and managing sensitive activities worldwide. While augmenting a JTF, he led a specialized team in the conception and establishment of a highly sensitive operation to meet National collection priorities and develop effects-based options for the highest levels of USG.

In 2020, LCDR Huntley was assigned to SEAL Team EIGHT where he commanded a 25-man SEAL Platoon and deployed to Special Operations Command – Europe and South America.

Between 2022 and 2024, LCDR Huntley served as a SEAL Troop Commander for SEAL Team TWO and deployed to Special Operations Command – Europe where he commanded a 160-man NSW Task Unit assisting key partners engaged in active conflict with a strategic competitor. Additionally during these two years, LCDR Huntley completed his M.S. degree in Space Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

LCDR Huntley currently serves as the USNA SEAL Program Manager.

LCDR Huntley’s awards include Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various unit awards and personal qualifications.
