Commander Chris Longabaugh is a Permanent Military Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Leadership, Ethics, and Law at the United States Naval Academy. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Commander Longabaugh graduated from the Naval Academy in 2003 with a B.S. in Systems Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Florida.
As a Naval Flight Officer, Commander Longabaugh has flown combat missions in multiple theaters of operation, accumulating more than 2,100 flight hours in the F/A-18F Super Hornet. His flying tours include VFA-41, VX-9, CVW-17, VFA-122, and VFA-22. Ashore, he served as the Assistant Operations Officer at the United States Naval Academy and Carrier Training and Plans Officer for Commander Naval Air Forces.
