First Lieutenant Macayan is a native of Austin, TX and was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy.

1stLt Macayan graduated with a degree in Political Science and minor in Russian with the Class of 2022. Upon graduation, 1stLt Macayan reported to The Basic School at MCB Quantico with Echo Company with follow on training at the Tactical Intelligence Officer Course and Air Intelligence Officer Course at Dam Neck, VA. Upon completion of TIOC and AIOC, First Lieutenant Macayan reported to 2d Intelligence Battalion where she served as the Hydrographic Survey and Topographic Platoon Commander, Battlespace Surveillance Company Executive Officer, and Battlespace Surveillance Company Commander. During her tour, she supported Exercise Nordic Response 2024 in Norway, served as the Marine Detachment Officer in Charge for Exercise Northern Forge 2024, and deployed in support of Joint Task Force 94.7 as the Law Enforcement Intelligence Team Lead.

In July 2026, First Lieutenant Macayan reported to the United States Naval Academy. First Lieutenant Macayan's personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
