Captain Samantha Miller is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2019 and her Master of Public Administration in 2020 from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. She commissioned through Officer Candidate School on 27 March 2021.
Captain Miller reported to The Basic School in Quantico, VA, in 2021 and graduated with Charlie Company in October 2021. She then attended the Infantry Officer Course in November of 2021, followed by Scout Sniper Employment Course, Tactical Intelligence Officer Course, and Ground Intelligence Officer Course.
She then reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines and served as the Battalion Intelligence Officer and Headquarters Battery Commander. In 2023, she reported to 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, where she assumed duties as Scout Sniper Platoon Commander. During this tour, she deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2024.
In 2025, Captain Lieutenant Miller was selected to serve as a Leadership and Ethics Instructor at the United States Naval Academy.
Captain Miller’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award) and the Captain Brent Morel Ground Intelligence Achievement Award.
