Detachment mission
The detachment embodies the Naval Academy mission to develop midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically — attracting, identifying, screening, and selecting high-quality midshipmen for Marine Corps commissions.
MARDET Marines serve across the Yard in cost-center billets, as company mentors, and on detachment teams. Through shaping engagements that inform, influence, and assess — and decisive engagements that select and equip — you extend the commander's intent to every midshipman in your sphere of influence. You are the visible standard of the Marine Corps on the Yard.
