The 2020 Political Science Department Prizes and Awards Ceremony is now available.
Congratulations to all Political Science Majors from the Class of 2020!
The following is a non-exhaustive list of awards for which political science majors are eligible:
Naval Order of the United States Prize: awarded to the midshipmen who have written the best essays on current national or international affairs.
Professor Allan F. Westcott Prize: presented to the midshipman from the graduating class with the highest academic standing in a Humanities and Social Sciences major.
Wilson L. Heflin Prize: awarded to the midshipman who has shown the most leadership in the humanities.
Naval Intelligence Foundation Award: presented to the most outstanding graduating midshipman participating in an academic honors program.
American Legion Prize: awarded to the graduating midshipman political science major with the highest academic standing.
Class of 1912 Prize: awarded to the graduating midshipman political science major emphasizing the study of the United States government with the highest academic standing.
Class of 1960 International Relations - National Security Prize: awarded to the graduating midshipman political science major emphasizing the study of international relations or national security with the highest academic standing.
Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC) Leadership Excellence Award: awarded to the midshipman with the most outstanding leadership contribution to the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference.
Stanley W. Legro Award: awarded to the midshipmen with the most outstanding contributions to the Naval Academy Debate Team.
Capstone Excellence Awards: awarded to the graduating midshipman political science majors for their outstanding capstone essays.
Best Honors Thesis: awarded to the graduating midshipman political science honors majors for the best honors thesis.
