High School Girls Biotech Day

The USNA STEM Center hosted a High School Girls Biotech Day on Saturday, January 22, 2022, as part of an effort to engage and educate students in biotechnology research and applications and encourage young women to pursue education and careers in STEM. The event consisted of a full day of hands-on laboratory sessions for high school girls on-site at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Mentors included midshipmen and volunteers from USUHS and DARPA including medical students, MD/PhD students, physician scientists and scientists. The program was sponsored by a grant from DoD STEM for Biotechnology Literacy.
