Musician 1st Class Aaron Stone grew up in Plano, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Music in jazz studies from the University of North Texas, where he studied with John Holt, Mike Steinel, Rodney Booth, Rob Parton, and Philip Dizack.

Prior to joining the Navy, Stone performed as a member of the University of North Texas One O’ Clock Lab Band and was an active freelance musician in the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex. Stone can be heard as lead trumpet player and soloist on “Lab 2021” by the University of North Texas One O’ Clock Lab Band.

In 2021, Stone auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy  Band. Following recruit training at RTC, Great Lakes, he reported for duty as trumpet instrumentalist with the Superintendent’s Combo, Blues & Gold, marching band, and ceremonial units. For his collateral duties, Stone serves as Brass Band Leading Petty Officer, Head Librarian, Bugle Coordinator, and Public Affairs Assistant.

Stone is a recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and Navy Good Conduct Medal.
