Candidate Visit Weekend Program
The Candidate Visit Weekend Program (CVW) Program is designed to completely immerse you in life as a Midshipman, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of how The United States Naval Academy prepares future leaders and warfighters.
The Candidate Experience
During CVW, you will step into the boots of a Plebe and gain unparalleled insight into the Brigade:
- Reside in Bancroft Hall, the Midshipmen dormitory and eat meals in King Hall, the Midshipmen dining facility.
- Shadow a Midshipman through rigorous academic classes and experience cutting-edge lab facilities. Typical Daily Schedule of a Midshipman
- Explore the historic campus.
- Test your limits by taking the official Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA).
- Learn the detailed steps of the Admissions process.
- Gain unprecedented access to USNA’s most influential leaders: the Superintendent, the Commandant, and speakers from the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership.
- Discover whether USNA aligns with your personal, educational, and professional goals.
The Candidate Family Experience
Families are provided an informative, concurrent schedule designed to answer key questions and offer perspective:
- Gain essential insight into the Admissions process.
- Explore the historic campus.
- Hear directly from key USNA leaders: the Dean of Admissions, the Superintendent, the Commandant, the Provost, and speakers from the Center for Academic Excellence, the Midshipmen Development Center and the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership.
Program Dates for Spring 2026:
- Session 1: 19–21 February 2026
- Session 2: 19–21 March 2026
- Session 3: 9–11 April 2026
- Session 4: 23–25 April 2026
CVW is offered by invitation only to high school juniors, seniors, and college applicants to USNA, as well as members of the Fleet. Invitations are generally offered to candidates who have not already experienced a formal visit to USNA, such as participation in Summer Seminar or a visit as a recruited athlete.
