Video TeleConferencing VTC

MSC is proud to offer USNA faculty and staff a Video Teleconferencing Center. To schedule video teleconferencing services, please email msc@usna.edu or submit a VTC Request form.

The VTC is available for small groups, distance learning classes and larger venue conferences. MSC uses an ISDN VTC codec. If you are looking to connect to a newer IP based codec a bridge connection will need to be established first. Please make sure to have all bridge connections arranged prior to the scheduled meeting.

The room is equipped with a LCD Projector, Document Camera, Conference Camera, and DVD Player. Our VTC facility has the capability to incorporate a Laptop Computer for PowerPoint slides and DVD players to include video in customer presentations. All audiovisual equipment can be configured to fit your needs.  Let us know what you need to accomplish your task.

Video teleconferencing can be recorded for documentation purposes or archival use, but must be requested prior to event.

What is a VTC? Video TeleConference (also known as a videoconference) is a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously. It has also been called visual collaboration. It differs from videophone in that it is designed to serve a conference rather than individuals.
