Games Created by Midshipmen
In October 2020, the Museum sponsored its first wargaming events. That led to a continuing extracurricular activity (ECA) of midshipmen who meet now at a wargaming lab in the basement in Mahan Hall. It also worked with the History Department in offering a new course on the history and design of wargames in which students select a war, operation or battle and build a wargame based on the objectives. The final exam involves testing the games with military and civilian professionals from the Pentagon and the fleet.

The board games designed by the midshipmen were modified for online play via a broader grant from the Office of Naval Research
The Museum selected four of the best games from our first classes to be produced and played online.
