Master Chief Aviation Electricians Mate Bernard Figueroa is a native of Long Island, New York. Master Chief Figueroa started his naval career in May 1997 at RTC, Great Lakes, IL. He graduated from Aviation Electricians Mate Common Core A School in 1998 and attended Aviation Electricians Mate C School in Jacksonville, FL prior to his first permanent duty assignment.
His sea duty tours include Patrol Squadron Forty-Five (VP-45), Patrol Squadron SIXTEEN (VP-16), Consolidated Maintenance Organization (CMO) ELEVEN, and Unmanned Patrol Squadron NINETEEN (VUP-19).
Ashore, Master Chief Figueroa served at Patrol Squadron THIRTY (VP-30), and Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) Jacksonville,
He has completed six deployments and eight detachments to the Fourth Fleet, Fifth Fleet, Sixth Fleet and Seventh Fleet AOR’s. He served in Operations JOINT GUARDIAN, and Operation ALLIED FORCE supporting peace keeping efforts in Bosnia, and Kosovo. He also served in Operations NORTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign and service medals.
Master Chief Figueroa holds an Associate’s Degree from State University of New York at Farmingdale. In August 2019 he reported to the United States Naval Academy as the Brigade Master Chief.
