Biography


Lieutenant Commander Morrissey is a Permanent Military Instructor and Surface Warfare Officer. At sea he served as Communications Officer on USS VICKSBURG (CG 69), Navigator on USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61),  Operations Officer/Combat Systems Officer on USS JOHN S. McCAIN (DDG 56), and Combat Systems Officer on USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG 114). He previously deployed to the CENTCOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, and USINDOPACOM Areas of Responsibility. He has completed numerous exercises, patrols, and deployments.

Ashore he served as a Surface Navigator's Course Instructor at Surface Warfare Officer's School, Newport, RI. He joined the History Department faculty in the summer of 2019.
