Material can be renewed, in person, at the Circulation Desk, by calling the Circulation Department (410-293-6945) or by sending e-mail to the Circulation Department .
To renew items online: Go here. Sign in using your USNA ID and password. Under your name in the top right corner there will be a link to My Loans. You will be given a list of items checked out to you. On the right of each item is the option to renew your items.Items with holds placed on them will not be renewed and must be returned on or before the due date.
Midshipmen may renew books for 1 year. At the end of the 1 year period they must be returned to the library.
Requesting an Item Or Digitization
If the Nimitz Library catalog shows the item you need, you may request that it be held for you at the Library. If the item is checked out we will hold it for you when it is returned. If the item is on the shelf we will pull it for you and hold it for you.
To request an item Go here. Sign in using your USNA ID and password. Find the item you wish to place on hold and click on it. You will be given an option to request the item. The request will show on your record under My Requests.
You will be notified via email when the item is ready for pick up. It will be held for you at the Circulation Desk for 7 days from the date notification is sent.
To request an article or book chapter digitized please follow these steps. Go here. Sign in using your USNA ID and password. Find the item you wish to digitize and click on it. You will be given an option for digitization. After selecting this option you will Prompted to enter Article/Chapter titles and beginning and ending pages. Once the item is scanned you will receive it via email.
