Material can be renewed, in person, at the Circulation Desk, by calling the Circulation Department (410-293-6945) or by sending e-mail to the Circulation Department .
To renew items online: Go here. Sign in using your USNA ID and password. Under your name in the top right corner there will be a link to My Loans. You will be given a list of items checked out to you. On the right of each item is the option to renew your items.Items with holds placed on them will not be renewed and must be returned on or before the due date.
Midshipmen may renew books for 1 year. At the end of the 1 year period they must be returned to the library.
Requesting an Item that is Checked Out and Recalling Items
Items that have been on loan for less than one week will not normally be recalled. If the current borrower has had the item for at least 7 days Circulation Department staff will ask the borrower to return the item for you to use. If these standard procedures will not meet your needs please speak to a staff member at the Circulation Desk or contact the Circulation Department.
If the Nimitz Library catalog shows that the item you need is checked out, you may request that it be held for you upon its return to the Library. Go here. Sign in using your USNA ID and password. Find the item you wish to place on hold and click on it. You will be given and option to request the item click this. The request will show on your record under My Requests.
You will be notified via email when the item has been returned to the Library. It will be held for you at the Circulation Desk for 7 days from the date notification is sent.
