If there are extenuating circumstances, users may contact a library staff member at one of the service desks for assistance.
Please note:
- Reservations may be made no sooner than 7 days prior to the date and no later than 4 hours prior.
- Reservable rooms are located on a quiet floor of the library, please keep noise at a reasonable level.
- Please dispose of all trash, leave the room in good condition, and report any issues or damage to a library staff member.
- Materials left in study rooms are the responsibility of the user. The Library is not responsible for the loss of personal items nor for the loss of Library materials left in these rooms.
- Reservations should be for occasional use. Excessive reservations (i.e. reserving a room for an entire day) may lead to cancelations or inability to make future reservations.
- These rooms are not for regularly scheduled classes or recurrent meetings.
- Nimitz Library reserves the right to cancel this project at any time if necessary.
Classroom & Group Study Reservation Policy
Nimitz Library has two classrooms, rooms Nimitz 227 and the Nautilus Room. The primary purpose of these rooms is to provide spaces in which librarians conduct hands-on classes for midshipmen in research skills and use of the Library's extensive resources. When not in use for library instruction, both of these rooms serve as open labs and are heavily used by midshipmen. Use of these rooms as a meeting place for regularly scheduled classes or non-library training during the academic terms is generally not permitted.
Study rooms, located on the second and third floors of the Nimitz Library, with the exception of the six study rooms on the third floor noted above, are available on a first-come, first-served basis. At times group study rooms may be reserved for one-time class use during the day.
Feedback, questions about the room reservation program, or requests for exceptions to this policy can be directed to Catherine Johnson, Associate Library Director for User Services at cjohnson@usna.edu.
