LT Wilson is a native of Eufaula, AL and 2002 graduate of Eufaula High School. She attended Auburn University in both Auburn and Montgomery, AL and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science in 2006. She continued her education at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA where she graduated with a Master’s of Divinity degree with a concentration in Ethics and Theology in 2012. She was ordained in the Sixth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church as an Itinerate Elder in 2013 and holds her conference membership in the Atlanta North Georgia Conference.
In July of 2010, LT Wilson was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy Chaplain Candidate Program (CCPO). Prior to being selected for active duty, she worked as a Clinical Pastoral Educational Chaplain Resident at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA. In February of 2013, LT was selected for active duty by the CARE Board. She received active duty orders after the completion of Naval Chaplaincy School on April 3, 2013 in Fort Jackson, SC.
LT Wilson reported as Command Chaplain to the USS Shiloh stationed in Yokosuka, Japan on May 22, 2013 and served until May 2015. Her responsibilities includes Division Officer, supervision of a Religious Program Specialist, Command Sponsorship Coordinator, religious support to all crew members, counseling, and ASIST trainer for Command 7th Fleet. LT Wilson has been recently assigned to the United States Naval Academy Chaplain Center serving as the 3RD Battalion Chaplain.
Her awards include Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Battle E Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon
