Command & Seamanship Training Squadron (CSTS)

CSTS is one of the premier summer training programs for Midshipmen at the US Naval Academy. The Midshipmen receive training in ocean sailing, seamanship, navigation, leadership, and teamwork.

During the summer, CSTS sends the sail training craft, Navy 44s, crewed by 3/C Midshipmen and led by 2/C and 1/C Midshipmen, USNA Faculty, Staff, or Civilian volunteers. They sail to various ports up and down the east coast during the four-week long training blocks. Week 1 consists of Midshipmen training at the Naval Academy. Weeks 2-4 consist of local area training and the offshore passage, port visit and return.
