Admissions Information

We are looking for motivated sailors. If you are interested in becoming a Naval Officer, have good grades and want the best in competitive sailing, you may be just what the Naval Academy Sailing Team is looking for. Intercollegiate Sailing is a varsity sport at the Naval Academy. As a sailor on the Naval Academy, you are treated as a top level athlete and expected to attend weekly team workouts.

The Intercollegiate Sailing Team is ideal for skippers and crews who have participated in competitive high school, junior or class racing in dinghies. The IC team is also a good fit for less experienced individuals who are athletic, under 150 lbs., and eager to learn and compete. Our team is committed to developing crews of all skill levels, we believe talented crews are the cornerstone of our program. The Naval Academy has been successful in producing Crew All-Americans from students who had not sailed prior to attending the Academy.

If you are interested in sailing at the Naval Academy or would like to learn more about our program, please fill out one of the questionnaires below and return by mail or fax to the address or fax number on the form.

If you have offshore or keel boat sailing experience, are too big for a dinghy, and possess a strong desire to sail and compete, then the Offshore Sailing Team may be the place for you.

Athlete Admissions Process

In addition, you should check out the Naval Academy Admissions Department to learn more about the Admissions process, check the basic eligibility requirements, and sign up to receive more information about the Academy. You should also consider the Summer Seminar which is a one week program in the summer after your junior year in High School where you can get a good taste of what life at the Academy will be like.
