Information for Prospective and New Employees
The U. S. Naval Academy is the U. S. Navy’s four-year undergraduate college and is located in Annapolis, Maryland. Originally established as Naval School in 1845, today the Naval Academy is home to 4,400 Midshipmen (also known as the Brigade). The Brigade is comprised of a diverse group of men and women representing all 50 states and some foreign counties. The Naval Academy’s campus, also known as the Yard, is a National Historic Landmark spanning 338 acres with historic monuments and views of Severn River.
The Naval Academy is unique among colleges and universities in the world. Our mission is to develop Midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, honor and loyalty in order to graduate leaders who are dedicated to a career in the Naval Service. This distinct focus gives us a clarity of purpose that distinguishes us from our sister institutions. Over the nearly 160 years of its existence, the Naval Academy has produced noted leaders who have made exceptional contributions in every walk of life. You will become a part of this tradition of excellence.
